Top 5 Rental FAQs About Check-In Day On Long Beach Island

1.    Do I need to bring my own pillows, towels, linens, and blankets?

It depends.  Ask your agent what the owners provide.  Most prefer you bring all your own while some will provide everything.  There are multiple companies willing to provide them for a weekly fee including delivery and pick up.  Ask your agent for a list of companies.

2.    Where and how do we pick up our keys on the day of check-in?

We now provide easy and convenient drive-through check-in.  On the day of your check-in, drive to The Van Dyk Group office located at 12800 Long Beach Boulevard, Beach Haven Terrace, NJ 08008.  Turn right at 128th/Ohio Avenue and make your second left into the back parking area of our building.  There will be signs and agents outside directing you to the main, check-in tent.  Be careful as they will be directing you into lines.  You can arrive as early as you like, but they start giving out keys and check-in packets no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your check-in time.  Your check-in and check-out times are on the top, right-hand corner of your lease.  Call your agent for any clarification.

3.    Why do our friends have different check-in and check-out times?

Each owner establishes their own check-in and check-out times based on the time needed to clean their properties in between tenants.  The new standard is 10:00 a.m. check-out and 4:00 p.m. check-in, however, every owner sets their own.  It is the goal of every owner and The Van Dyk Group for you to arrive at a clean property every time.

4.    Can we get an early check-in or check-out?

Again, owners make that decision, but they established a turn-over window (the hours in between tenants) based on how long it takes to clean their property and also to account for any additional cleaning that may be required.  Sometimes exceptions are made, but most often it benefits the owner and the tenant to keep the times established.

5.    What happens if I get to the property and it's not clean?

Call your agent as soon as you arrive.  Take pictures and send them to your agent.  They will contact the owner and discuss the situation.  If it warrants additional cleaning, arrangements will be made between the owner and your agent and then your agent will coordinate directly with you.
